About Seeds
Cowpea seed are the seeds of the Vigna unguiculata plant, also known as black-eyed pea, southern pea, or crowder pea. They are a nutritious component of the human diet and cheap livestock feed. Cowpea seeds are white, cream, green, red brown, black, or a mottled combination in color, and can have an “eye” where a lighter color is surrounded by one that is darker. The seeds are usually kidney-shaped, although the more restricted they are within the pod, the more spherical they become.
